From gorilla trekking safaris in the Bwindi Forest National Park, it is also a home to over 90 species of mammal, incorporating 11 primates and famous bird species. It is also blessed with flora and fauna with ten gorilla families currently available to be visited by tourists. However, strict rules must be followed to prevent behavioral disturbances and transmission of diseases.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Transfer from Kampala in the morning and drive to the southern part of the country, you will have en-route stop at the Equator, a famous spot for photography. Proceed to Mbarara town for a lunch stopover. After lunch you will proceed with the journey to the national park and will take you through the rolling green high grounds and good countries of Uganda. The journey will reward you with the wonderful perspective of triangular peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. We then drop down into the valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the gorilla. You will have dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas / gorilla Resort / Gorilla Mist Camp / Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
This is your day for memorable gorilla trekking adventure in bwindi national park. After early morning breakfast the lodge, you will transfer to the park headquarter and be briefed from the ranger guide, after the briefing. You will penetrate into the jungle for gorilla tracking. The activity always begins at 8:00am, you have to carry packed lunch, drinking water, rain coat and jungle boots while the ranger guide will provide you with a strolling stick. The time taken to see the gorillas is unpredictable since it depends on the movement of the gorillas in the search for food, shelter and water. An experience with an earth shaking 350 pound silverback or a baby gorilla is exceptionally exciting and unforgettable experience! After this great adventure you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Safari
Today, you will follow the same procedures as on day 2, on this day you’ll visit another gorilla family, and completely different from the one visited on day 2. After this second gorilla trek, you will return back to the lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the world’s fresh water lakes in the East Africa. Dinner and overnight will be at Acadia Cottages / Bunyonyi Overland Camp.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer back to Kampala with an en-rout lunch in Mbarara town and then continue to Kampala for last minute shopping and then drive to the Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
