The 21 Days Uganda Rwanda safari starts in Kampala (Uganda) and ends in Kigali (Rwanda). These 21 days of great adventure, taking you deep into the wilderness of Africa.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
At your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our safari guide who will warmly welcome and drive you to Kampala Serena Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Jinja Tour – Visit the Source of River Nile
After breakfast at your Hotel, you will meet your safari guide and transfer to Jinja tour, with an en-route visit to the Sezibwa Falls, Mabira Forest, tea and Sugarcane plantations. You will arrive at Jinja early enough for lunch and after, you visit the source of the mighty River Nile, and afterward Bujagali Falls. After all this great adventure, you will return back to Kampala reaching in the evening for dinner and overnight at your hotels as no day one.
Day 3: Kampala City Tour
After having a heavy breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on Kampala city tour, and visit nearby areas of interests like Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, where Christian believers were burnt live for failing to denounce their faith in Christianity, visit the Baha’i Temple; the only temple in Africa of the Baha’i faith, later, visit the National Museum where Uganda cultural regalia are kept. After Lunch, you visit Makerere University, Kasubi Tombs, where the Kabakas (Kings) of Buganda Kingdom were burried, Gadhaffi Mosque, Namirembe Cathedral, Lubaga Cathedral, Lubiri King’s castle. After all this you will return back to Serena Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
After your breakfast at Kampala Serena Hotel, your will be transferred to Murchison Falls National park, with en-route stop at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Optional Rhino Tracking. (USD30 for whoever wishes to track the Rhinos) After habituating the Rhinos for 1 hour, continue with the journey to Masindi and have lunch Kabalega Resort. You will then proceed to Murchison National Park and visit the top of the falls and later drive Paraa Safari Lodge / Nile Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Warm you’re self with a cup of tea / coffee and transfer for a fantastic morning game drive to be able to catch up with early risers like lion, leopard, hyenas, bush bucks, among others before they return to their hiding places. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, relaxation as you wait for lunch. After lunch, you will enjoy a launch cruise to the bottom of the Victoria Nile Falls which will reward you with view of games such as hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants as well as a variety of bird species. After the launch cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will set out on a scenic journey to Fort Portal, a wonderful town overlooking the mountains of the moon (Rwenzori). Taking the Western track to Kibale Forest National Park, this journey will take you through the Albertine Rift found in the Western arm of Great East African Rift Valley. Arriving at Fort Portal early evening, unwind at the Lodge as you sit tight for supper and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge / Ndali lodge / Mountains of the moon hotel Or Chimpanzee Guest House.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking and Afternoon relaxation
After having breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the National Park Headquarters briefing from the ranger guide. After the briefing, penetrate into the Forests with the ranger to search for the chimps. You will find the chimps by listening for their pant hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. While in the Kibale Forest, expect to see, different primates like the red colobus, black and white colobus and the red-tailed monkey. Return to the lodge for lunch, unwind as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park and a Boat Cruise
After breakfast at your lodge, we shall hit the road and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with en-route game drive while entering the national park. On your arrival, you will have lunch and continue for the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Different animals that come to drink water at the channel and water birds will be seen along the shores such buffalos, elephants, a lot of hippos, crocodiles and also a variety of species of bird. After the boat cruise, you will return for dinner and overnight at Kyambura Gorge Safari Lodge / Mweya Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge or Bush Lodge.
Day 9: Morning game Drives and Nature Walk
Warm your self with a cup of tea / coffee and transfer for an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens Mile in the national park. Here expect to see lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, Kobs among others. Drive back to your lodge for late breakfast and lunch. Toward the evening, enjoy a forest nature walk in Maramagambo forest, where you will experience a variety of species of bird, tree species, visit the bat caves. Then after return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight as on day eight.
Day 10: A day for Relaxation at the Lodge

Day 11: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After Breakfast, leave queen Elizabeth National park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through Ishasha sector with game drives en-route in search for the famous tree climbing lions which are constantly spotted clinging on old fig trees. Move ahead to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest found in the southern a part of Uganda. On your arrival, you will unwind at the lodge while preparing for the gorilla trekking the following day. Dinner and overnight will be at Bwindi Safari Lodge / Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / Buhoma Lodge.
Day 12: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Walk
After Breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the park headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for briefing by a ranger guide, there after enter the forest for your gorilla tracking experience. The steeply forested scene is incredibly thick but criss-crossed by various animal trails allowing access to tourists. Gorilla tracking may take 2-7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in their natural wild in search for food, water and shelter. Meet and stay with gorillas for a maximum of one hour, observe and take photos and come back to the lodge for unwinding as you prepare for the evening community walk to visit the Batwa (pygmies) and get entertained with their traditional dances in which you will likewise partake when you wish!!. Come back to your lodge / camp for dinner and overnight as on (day 11).
Day 13: Depart for Lake Bunyonyi – Boat Ride
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest lakes in Africa and bilharzia-free. Enjoy a boat ride around the surrounding islands with a great view of terraced hills and relax at the shores of the lake. Dinner and overnight will be at Bird Nest / Lake Bunyonyi Resort.
Day 13: Full Day Relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi
Spend a full day relaxing while enjoying the good view of Lake Bunyonyi, breathtaking pure and fresh air.
Day 14: Cross Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy your breakfast, set off a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Dinner and overnight will be at Sabinya Silverback Lodge / Virunga Lodge.
Day 15: Golden Monkey tracking/Hike to Dian Fossey Grave
On this day, you will either enjoy golden monkey tracking in the forest, to encounter different primate species along the way. OR, you will trek up to Karisoke Research Centre, formed by an American primatologist, Dian Fossey who dedicated her years in protecting the live of the mountain gorillas until she was murdered and was buried there at the centre, alongside Digit, a grave to a mountain gorilla she loved. Return for lunch at your lodge as you prepare for the nature stroll to the Lakes Buhondo and Burela OR move for community walk, where you will learn the Banyarwanda culture, and be entertained in their traditional dances in which you can likewise take part when you wish. You will rent to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your Lodge as on day fourteen.
Day 16: Transfer to Lake Kivu
A relaxed breakfast, set off to Lake Kivu, where you will enjoy a boat ride to the coffee island, the hot springs, the Goma-Congo Boarder, a clear view on Nyiragongo volcanoe. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.
Day 17: Relaxation and Boat Cruise
On this day you have breakfast, lunch and enjoy a full day beach relaxation and boat cruise around the encompassing islands. You will have dinner and overnight stay at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel Rwanda.
Day 18: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
On this day you will have breakfast at your lodge as on day 17 and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, with en-route stopovers for beautiful photography and lunch. You will reach Nyungwe Forest towards evening for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge / Nyungwe Hill Top view Hotel or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 19: Forest Canopy walk and Colobus Monkey Trekking
After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the park headquarters of Kibale Forest and go for a breathtaking canopy walk, which will give you a perfect top perspective of the Nyungwe Forest, view waterfalls and a variety of birds at eye-level contact. After this breathtaking activity, return for Lunch as you prepare for primate tracking in the forest where you will see animals like; colobus monkey, black and white colobus monkeys and other 12 primate species along the track. Come back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge / Nyungwe Hill Top view Hotel or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 20: Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast at the lodge, drive to Kigali, with en-route visit to the museums, Nyanza King’s Palace and Murambi genocide memorial site. Arrive at Kigali toward the evening for a city tour. Have dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel / Hotel Des Mille Collin / Chez Lando Hotel, The manor Hotel or Step Town Hotel.
Day 21: Departure
After breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer for Kigali city tour and last minute shopping and later transfer to Kigali International airport for your flight back home. This marks the end of the 21 days Uganda and Rwanda gorilla safari adventure.
